Top Ten Social Bookmarking Websites

StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon has a huge range of visitors and there is a ton of traffic to be gained from using this bookmarking service. It is easier then others to use as well because you can download their toolbar which allows you too stumble any website you want without leaving the site. This makes for a lot of people using the service in the wrong way though.

Digg

Digg

Digg is alike StumbleUpon in many ways except for the fact that there isn’t a toolbar which you can download. You will need to go to the website to actually Digg a story. This is worth the hassle though because it can bring good traffic if you get enough Diggs. The goal is to reach the front page but this will rarely happen.

Furl

Furl

Furl is becoming more popular as Social Bookmarking becomes more widely used. It started out a lot smaller then the first two sites mentioned in the list but it gained power over time and now is in my top three for networks to be submitting your sites too.

Technorati

Technorati

This site has been helping bloggers get noticed for awhile now. It is more directed to the technology side of things but you can submit your work to it almost no matter what. It has been dying down a little as of late though as other networks are quickly gaining on these guys.

Del.icio.us

Del.icio.us

Del.icio.us is a bookmarking site for your favourites and is easily incorporated in your web browser. You can add a button in which you can then tag your sites. Many people use this site and it is really popular. The more people who have the same bookmarked page the more exposure the webpage will receive.

Propeller

Propeller

Propeller isn’t as nearly used as network of some of the ones in this top ten list but they for some reason are very powerful at getting your bookmarks featured. Your bookmarks can reach the front page of this website quickly and in not time you would be receiving many extra visitors.

Fark

Fark

Fark has recently caught my eye and they have been moving up the lists for a long time now. Fark has a lot more exposure then a lot of the sites above it in the list but they still haven’t quite got the system down like the above networks. You need to gain from bookmarking and that is why it is #7 and not #3.

Reddit

Reddit

Reddit is one of the networks I became familiar with when I first started using these networks and I have yet to stop using it. Although it is becoming played out a little and the newer ones are becoming more widely used and featured I still think it deserves a spot on the top ten.

MyBlogLog

MyBlogLog

MyBlogLog is a newer service to me so I can’t give you much information on it. I just recently got accepted to the website and it looks amazing. I think it will be moving up this list within the course of 2008. It should be interesting to see where this site ranks in the beginning of 2009.

Kaboodle

Kaboodle

Kaboodle just like most of the other top networks has a funny yet catchy domain name. They are key to use and I think this network is important. It isn’t filled with newbie’s yet and you can get yourself listed amongst other great websites. Do so before this network fills up with garbage.
